(Orothon) From almost anywhere in Whitenest you can hear the waves gently crashing on the pebbly beach. The salty breeze drifts through the unexpectedly verdant city. It’s a near year-round summer in this quaint seaside paradise. Sure there’s an unholy scream that happens every few days which destroys anything made of metal and there are blood mages ripping out hearts right and left in nearby areas, but still…gotta live that beach life am I right?”
Whitenest is the small town where the Orothon PCs began their adventure. To be frank, it was never really a peaceful place due to an all-too-often occurrence of a phenomenon called “The Scream.” The Scream was a deafening, world-wide shriek that would crack metal armor and weapons. Such a pain in the ass.
The group eventually stopped The Scream but this opened a whole can of worms, or, rather, opened a hole in the ground filled with vengeful clan of dwarves.
There has also been an ongoing threat to all of Orothon in the form of blood mages called the Cruor. And by “threat” I mean a hurricane of pending doom but instead of water it would be raining blood. The Cruor go hard in the paint with their world takeovers.
This bright summer berry cocktail coupled with the arrival of October seemed a perfect drink to welcome the transition from summer to spooky.
It’s a Cruor, Cruor Summer
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Empress Gin
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
- .25 oz Cream Sherry
- .5 oz Simple Syrup
- Two strawberries for muddle and one for garnish
- Basil leaves for muddle and garnish
- Soda water to top
Recipe:
- Muddle two strawberries and basil with the simple syrup in your shaker. Add remaining ingredients. Shake with ice; strain over ice in a lowball glass. Top with a splash of soda water and garnish with a strawberry and basil leaves.
